My counselling approach draws from several modalities including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioural, dialectical behavioural, Adlerian, narrative and emotion focused therapies. While largely inspired by the core tenets of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, I enjoy working with clients to discover their preferred counselling approach, often blending ideas from multiple schools of thought. My counselling style is underpinned by the belief that you, the client, are the expert in your own life. As your counsellor, I will work with you in a solution focused, goal oriented way in an effort to understand your goals and hopes for counselling. Together, we will identify areas for further focus and exploration, working to meet your goals and make tangible, concrete progress towards them. I believe that ongoing training and education in my field is essential to being the most effective counsellor I can be, and I look forward to continue to implement new and innovative counselling techniques in my work with you.
